Hi
My Cylinders are 1.0 mm over allready and need another rebore. Does anyone know where I can get "new" piston sleeves so that I can take it back to original size? I can get some made up here but if there are a pair lying around gathering dust.....If someone in "sunny" england could check with Crooks I would be grateful, I never seem to be able to get him.

Some years ago a friend of mine replaced his own sleeve with the aid of a 20 ton press and I am sure he used a later model Suzuki T/GT250 sleeve however this was for racing so he then went on change the porting so I do not know if porting/timing wise they are the same as a T20. If you were in this country I would say ring SEP or Fahrons who do a lot of work on T20's, Fahrons use all manner of differnt motorcycle parts pistons/conrods etc on different bikes, try e mailing them and they might point you in the right direction. Just a thought you used to be able to get a 1.5mm pattern oversize piston kits for GT250/380 which will fit the T20 although they have 1.5mm piston rings as aposed to 2mm on a T20.

For further overbore sizes in a Suzuki T20.

Use pistons from a Suzuki TSX125. They are effectively at an overbore size of 2mm and the piston pin size is the same as the T20. HOWEVER they are slightly taller when installed and so additional base gaskests have to be fitted to ensure the top of the piston does not protube above the top of the barrel.

I have used these a number of times and they work very well with no decernable performance difference. The new capacity is about 270cc and you may want to up the main jets slightly if you do a lot of high speed running though I have not had a problem at more 'normal' engine speeds.

I also have an engine running with 56mm pistons in. They do hit the heads though if you don't fit two gaskets (which you have to open out to 56mm).

This works really well and gives a useful increase in power on the road - you can hold 6th gear for much longer.

I ended up boring out to 56mm and using TS125 pistons. The pistons were almost a perfect match except for the slightly higher head and shorter skirt.
I won't know how they go until after the new year because of a posting to a new city the bike is all crated up.
Thanks for all of the advice and merry christmas. Will post photo'os of the restored bike next year.
